Fuze/Safe & Arming Division

Action produces more types of loaded fuzes than any other U.S. ordnance manufacturer.  The Fuze Division's facilities are housed in two plants with a combined floor area exceeding a quarter-million square feet.

Our highly competent staff is experienced in the specialized fabrication, assembly and testing associated with mechanical and electronic fuze parts and explosives.  This technical know-how assures our clients of a superior end-product.

We continually meet or exceed specification requirements because of our emphasis on pre-production quality assurance (planning and process control procedures), inspections and final acceptance testing.

Special engineering and quality control support are critical to the safety and reliability of ordnance products.  Our reputation results in repeat business from satisfied customers--worldwide.

Our edge is the capacity for reliable high-volume, low-cost production of fuzes and safe-and-arming devices, from inception to final testing.  To date over 30 millions fuzes have been fabricated and loaded for diverse applications in ammunition and weapons systems.  Specialized facilities include two 40-foot drop towers, firing ranges and complete environmental test facilities to assure compliance of completed fuze and detonation devices with government specifications.

Manufacturing capabilities include precision-machining, finishing, and assembly of fuze components, including mechanical timers and electronic sub-assemblies.  Additionally, we manufacture and load explosive components and boosters, integral parts of fuze production.

Since we are a single source supplier, the need to divide responsibilities between mechanical parts manufacturers and explosive loading contractors is eliminated.  The potential for delays, quality control problems and functional deficiencies is therefore substantially reduced.

Regardless of the quantity required, Action has the capability, expertise, experience and automated equipment to produce the required metal and explosive components.

Action has received numerous Value Engineering Awards and has been given special recognition by the U.S. Government for its redesign of a shoulder mounted assault weapons fuze--a much improved standard fuze delivered far ahead of schedule.
